Short Sleeves Insights- A Cinder Of Unity!

Monday, May 26th, 2008

“If the cloth had its own fixed, unchangeable self essence, it could not be made from the thread…the cloth comes from the thread and the thread from the flax…It is just like the … burning and the burned. They are brought together under certain conditions, and thus there takes place a phenomenon called burning…each has no reality of its own. For when one is absent the other is put out of existence. It is so with all things in this world, they are empty, without self, without absolute existence. They are like the will-o’-the-wisp.”

Where Is Amber

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Passing thought a traffic light the other day got me to thinking. What if there were no amber lights. The answer instantly returned-serious accidents and death daily. The creation of the amber light between the green and red light is as ingenious innovation that saves lives.

The amber light has implications for anger management. The amber light is synonymous with our ability to listen to and regulate our emotions. So many times we can go from green to red (road rage, desk rage, verbal abuse, workplace aggression etc.) with no thought of the consequences-we leave in the wake a trail of destroyed relationships, lives and property.

When You Have Nothing To Give

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Emptying our bank accounts into the church and then worrying ourselves week after week about our finances will not profit us, or the kingdom of God. If we are tithing and not giving ourselves to God, our tithe does not mean anything. In this, all we are doing is following a carnal commandment from the Old Testament law while ignoring God’s purpose for our lives.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

An Orange, Consciousness & Spiritual Perspective

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Nature is our best teacher and can show us dramatic insights into the very core of your being. All we have to do is be awake and aware of what is happening in any given moment of now. Let us take a look at what an orange can tell us about your consciousness and what is really inside of you.

I want you to think of an orange, a nice big juicy orange. . If you cut this orange in half and squeeze it really hard what do you get? You get orange juice, right? And why is it that you get orange juice from this orange? Because orange juice is what is inside of an orange. Pretty simple logic, true? You are not going to get motor oil or lemon juice; you are going to get orange juice.

The 80-20 Rule

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

There is a proven statistic that can be applied to direct our activity towards the results that we desire. The statistical formula looks like this: 80% of our success comes from 20% of our activities. That means that 80% of our efforts contributes to only 20% of our success. When analyzing people who are struggling, it is quickly realized that they tend to focus on those activities that seem to generate the lowest results. Their day is consumed with the attending to those tasks which have little effect on the overall picture.

Dark Past Springboard To Bright Future

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Abuse, neglect and rejection all leave emotional scars, but there is an alternative to limping into the future hampered by your past. It is possible to take charge of your life, to create the future you want and desire. You can allow your future to clarify your past rather than allowing your past to control your future.

Have you ever had a horrible experience that at the time felt like the world was falling apart, only to later (sometimes years) look back and see that something good came from that experience-you learned something about yourself or were strengthen in some way. Sometimes these experiences are referred to as blessings in disguise. It is our tragedies and struggles that build our character, not the smooth and easy times.
